The EUROPEAN COURT COMDEMNED ROMANIA FOR POLICE VIOLANCE AGAINST A ROMA FAMILY IN SATU MARE COUNTY

On Tuesday, March 14, The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has issued another verdict against Romania related to the way its national courts deal with the cases in which Roma people are involved. Fogarași and others against Romania is one more case where police officers have committed aggressions against members of the Roma population, and the national legal system has failed to properly investigate the allegations. As such the Court found a violation of Article 3 of the Convention of Human Rights under its procedural aspect. Read the full Press Release.
